From Bill: I would be remiss

I wanted to take a moment out of this busy time of year to wish you a Happy Holiday! The Holidays are a good time to reflect on the past year and take stock of the important people in your life, like you. I am so grateful for your friendship and support.

While this time of year is a season of joy and good tidings, I would be remiss if I did not also acknowledge the hardships facing so many Americans. Several families are struggling to put food on the table. Parents are dealing with children battling addiction. And, so many of us are worrying about loved ones that are half-a-world away protecting our freedoms., I would be remiss if I did not also acknowledge the hardships facing so many Americans. Several families are struggling to put food on the table. Parents are dealing with children battling addiction. And, so many of us are worrying about loved ones that are half-a-world away protecting our freedoms.

Fortunately, we do not have to look far to find people willing to assist those in their time of need.

The Plymouth County Coalition for the Homeless works towards strengthening families in need. Stanley Street Treatment and Resources in Fall River provides a wide range of mental health and substance abuse treatment services to those dealing with addiction. The Cape Cod Veterans Inc., who, through volunteers, provides an array of programs and services to veterans, service members, and their families.

These organizations along with many others here in the 9th District exemplify the true holiday spirit and make us all realize that we truly do not have to go far to find greatness.

Let us remember the things that are important in our lives -- our families, our friends, and our communities. I hope your coming year is healthy, safe, and prosperous.

With warm regards,

Bill Keating
