Keating put troops first; what's wrong with that?

To the Editor:

I was proud to read that U.S. Rep. William Keating fulfilled his commitment to our military and their families by attending the 102nd Intelligence Wing's family day ceremony at Joint Base Cape Cod rather than take part in a political talk show.

At the same time it was tremendously disappointing to read that the Republican nominee for Congress, John Chapman, attempted to deceive the public by saying the congressman skipped a debate he was never scheduled to attend.

I enjoy the political banter as much as the next guy, but attacking any politician for putting our troops first is low grade.
